Akhela offers consulting, support and development services for optimising, reorganising and rationalising information technology infrastructures and their management processes. This is accomplished using innovative tools capable of precisely measuring the different parameters of system operation and use. The result is a positive impact on information system efficiency and flexibility, with a reduction in both infrastructure and running costs, so as to substantively improve the TCO.
To complement these services, Akhela has developed a range of virtualisation solutions, based on the products of its partner VMware, which are able to optimise server consolidation, business continuity, and intelligent workload management, for a more economical and flexible approach to disaster recovery management.
The IT Consolidation process is completed by an array of services for managing entire infrastructures or their parts according to service level agreements (SLA), which afford both improved performance and cost savings compared to self management. There are various options for delivery of the services, ranging from full outsourcing of the entire Information System, to remote management of part of the infrastructure, to Level 2 specialist support for architectures managed by the client's in-house technical staff.
The remote management and monitoring of systems allows the IT infrastructure (systems, networks, end-to-end applications) to be continually supervised, collecting all the data needed to verify its correct functioning and promptly detect any problems, as well as enabling the display, on a single dashboard, of instantaneous and historical data for the various components relevant to the organisation's security.
The IT Infrastructure Management area also comprises solutions and services for the automation and management of datacentre operations. These offerings allow information resources to be administered in a strategic manner, significantly reducing the risk of uncontrolled operations and improving IT performance, also for the purposes of regulatory compliance (e.g. Sarbanes-Oxley, Basel II).
Datacentre Automation comprises the following areas:
- Automation of provisioning and change management activities (operating systems, middleware and applications)
- Traceability and auditing of the operations carried out
- Enabling of rollback
- Standardising of configurations
- Configuration compliance
- Adherence to ITIL best practices and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
